Nature-Based Therapy

Give the Gift of Healing

After returning from Afghanistan, Front Country Foundation founder and CEO Cam Fields struggled with CPTS (Chronic Post Traumatic Stress) and found limited relief through traditional therapy. A transformative surfing experience, and later snowboarding in the backcountry of Jackson Hole, revealed the healing power of nature, challenge, and connection. In 2016, that realization became Front Country Foundation, created to help veterans rediscover purpose, peace, and community through adventure.

Research from the VA and peer-reviewed studies on nature-based therapy show significant reductions in PTSD symptoms through outdoor, physically demanding activities especially when coupled with peer based social interaction and networks.
