ANNUAL TRAVIS PARTYKA SCHOLARSHIP

After losing our dear friend Travis Partyka (Par-tee-kah) to the mental health challenges that followed his experiences in war, we were inspired to honor his legacy and his love for the mountains through purpose and action. Thus, the inception of the Partyka Scholarship, an annual tribute awarded to a deserving applicant for the current winter season.

Travis was more than a resilient individual; he exemplified exceptional loyalty and extended unwavering support to those around him. Strength, both physical and emotional, was a cornerstone of his character, shaping him into a source of inspiration for others. The Partyka Scholarship, aims to uplift an individual who embodies the unique combination of loyalty, kindness, humility, passion, grit, and contagious enthusiasm that defined Travis.

The annual scholarship provides a fully funded 6-day clinic, including expert instruction, lodging, meals, and guided backcountry adventures. Recipients also receive a complete set of gear—skis or snowboard, boots, bindings, poles, avalanche equipment, and a pack — everything they need to continue exploring the backcountry for years to come and ensuring their adventures extend far beyond their time with FCF.
